The Best Connection are pleased to be supporting one of the UKs leading motor vehicle auction sites and are recruiting for a vehicle inspector to join their busy team in preparing a large variety of vehicles, including light commercial vehicles for auction. Previous experience within the motor trade is essential as well as excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail. Successful candidates will have a solid working knowledge of terminology used within the motor trade as well as previous experience in a similar role. Excellent time management skills are also required as vehicles will need to be assessed, graded and prepared for regular weekly auctions. Hours of work will usually be Monday-Friday 07:30-16:30, with the payrate being up to Β£15 per hour, a permanent position will be offered to successful candidates.

Requirements of the Vehicle Inspector:

  • Previous experience inspecting the bodywork and basic mechanics of a variety of vehicles
  • Must have own transport and a full clean driving licence
  • Physically inspect vehicles and log full details on the in-house database in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with the Auction house and yard team to prioritise and prepare stock
  • Strong attention to detail, good IT skills and excellent spoken and written English for report writing.

Responsibilities of the Vehicle Inspector:

  • Inspect and log vehicles ready for auction
  • Follow all health and safety, DVSA and DVLA protocol at all times
  • Ensure that all reports and data relating to the preparation of vehicles is logged safely and accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with the yard and auction teams to deliver a 1st class service and adherence to company policies
  • Use company equipment and databases with all due care and attention
  • Report any incidents or concerns relating to vehicle safety and suitability to management as required.
