Porter / Driver’s Mate

Location: Rochester, Kent

Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday (48 hours per week)

Start Time: Between 4:00am – 6:00am

We are currently recruiting Porters / Driver’s Mates to join our client based in Rochester, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a full-time permanent position after a successful 12-week period, with excellent benefits and career progression.

💼 What You’ll Get

  • £13.75 per hour
  • Guaranteed 48-hour working week (9-10 hour shifts)
  • Monday to Friday only – no weekends!
  • Bank Holidays OFF – but still paid
  • Fully paid induction (2-3 days)
  • Temp to Perm opportunity after 12 weeks
  • Career progression: Opportunity to train for your HGV Class 2 licence
  • Access to a bonus scheme once permanent

📦 Role Responsibilities

  • Assisting drivers with the delivery of flat-packed kitchens to homes and construction sites
  • Handling heavy lifting – physically demanding role
  • Providing excellent customer service during deliveries
  • Ensuring goods are delivered safely and efficiently
  • Working as part of a team to complete daily delivery routes

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and hard-working attitude
  • Ability to start early (between 4am – 6am)
  • Own transport is essential due to early start times
  • Willing to undergo drug and alcohol testing

⚠️ Important: Drug & Alcohol Testing

Please note: Drug testing is carried out at induction and randomly once permanent.

Testing is conducted via a saliva-based test, which can detect substance use over a longer period (including previous weeks/months) rather than just recent use.
