Plant Operative & Regional Plant Operative Opportunities - Lancashire

We are currently recruiting for two Plant Operative positions within a busy waste management operation across Lancashire. These are excellent opportunities for experienced plant operators seeking long-term work through to December 2026.
Pay Rates
- Weekdays: £13.80 per hour
- Saturdays: £17.25 per hour
- Sundays: £20.70 per hour
Available Roles
Plant Operative - Darwen Transfer Station
Location: Darwen, Lancashire (BB3 0RP)
- Operating plant machinery within a busy waste management facility
- 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
- Site operates 7 days per week
- Working hours between 06:00 - 18:00
- Long-term assignment through to December 2026
Regional Plant Operative - Lancashire
This role covers multiple transfer stations across Lancashire, including:
- Blackpool Transfer Station
- Darwen Transfer Station
- Redscar Transfer Station
- Pendle Transfer Station
- Salt Ayre Transfer Station
The successful candidate will be provided with a company van for business use. The vehicle can be taken home but is not available for personal use.
Working Hours: 07:00 - 17:00
5-Week Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Saturday & Sunday off
- Week 2: Saturday & Sunday off
- Week 3: Friday & Saturday off
- Week 4: Wednesday & Thursday off
- Week 5: Monday & Sunday off
Essential Requirements
- Valid Loading Shovel qualification
- Previous experience operating plant machinery
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- 360 Excavator qualification
- Experience within waste management, recycling, construction, quarrying, or similar industries
PPE Requirements
Candidates must supply their own:
- Hard Hat
- High-Visibility Clothing
- Safety Boots

Successful candidates will be responsible for the safe operation of plant machinery while maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
