The Best Connection are proud to be working with a local manufacturer and producer of natural food products. We are recruiting for qualified Counterbalance Forklift Operatives to join the small and friendly team of this family run business. The role will initially involve general forklift and warehouse duties including unloading and loading heavy goods, stacking and positioning of pallets and with training, production operative duties as required.

Candidates must have a B1 Counterbalance licence and at least 1-2 years experience driving the forklift truck. The role will involve heavy lifting; candidates must be able to lift weights up to 25 kg. Experience in production, labouring and warehouse duties is essential. Shifts patterns are Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00, pay rate is £14 per hour with time and a half paid after working 40 hours in the same week at £21 per hour subject to availability.

Requirements of the job:

  • Work collaboratively with the production team to achieve production targets
  • Carry out quality control checks on products as directed and report any concerns to the production manager
  • Manual Handling, Heavy lifting and general warehouse duties, including stacking pallets safely are required daily
  • Follow all health and safety protocol at all times, reporting any concerns/incidents to management
  • Forklift operatives will need to hold an accredited, valid, in date Counterbalance licence
  • Live locally or be able to commute to St Neots

Responsibilities of the job:

  • Operate production equipment and machinery to production standards and targets with training as necessary
  • Carry out yard/production site and warehouse housekeeping as required
  • Complete any health and safety checks and record keeping as required
  • Ensure all duties/tasks are carried out to required standards and production targets are achieved
  • Operate Counterbalance Forklift to move stock and equipment safely around the warehouse/production site
