Job Description:
The Best Connection are currently recruiting seasonal Forklift Counterbalance day/night for a market leading client in their field, in rural West Sussex.
This is a very exciting position, commencing from end of September, for a period of 4 weeks!
Overall Purpose:
To assist in general work operations in the warehouse and forecourt including stacking away grape picking crates, cleaning pallets and general tidying of the outdoor work area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To complete a \’forklift safety check sheet\’ at the start of each shift
- During operation of the press loading system, receive cleaned picking crates as they emerge from the crate washer and stack them in the designated area, ready for re-use
- Unload trailers of fruit pallets as soon as trailers arrive into designated loading bays.
- Weigh pallets of fruit on platform scales and move to loading bay as directed by Weighbridge operator
- Transport fruit pallets from loading bays to de-palletiser system as directed by Shift Manager
- Load pallets of clean and empty crates onto trailers as directed by Shift Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of forklift, and replace gas bottles as needed.
- To immediately report any damage or malfunctions of the forklift to the Shift Manager.
Other tasks:
- Report all incidents or broken equipment immediately to Shift manager
- Assist in leaf picking, pallet washing, floor cleaning and crate washing operations as required.
- Compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures and health and safety rules.
General Tasks:
- To maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment at all times
- To only operate any machinery or equipment after training and approval by the Shift Manager.
