The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a well-established logistics and distribution operation in Kettering. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start and excellent long-term prospects for the right candidate.
About the Role
- Leading and supervising the warehouse team on a daily basis
- Working closely with the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operation
- Working hands-on on the shop floor, leading by example and supporting the warehouse team
- Loading and unloading tyres, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently
- Organising and allocating staff and resources to meet daily operational requirements
- Monitoring team productivity and ensuring KPIs and performance targets are achieved
- Communicating daily targets, instructions and operational updates to the warehouse team
- Supporting the induction, training and development of new and existing employees
- Ensuring all warehouse processes are followed correctly and safely
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety, including manual handling and PPE requirements
- Ensuring freight is sorted, handled and stored correctly to minimise damage and discrepancies
- Reporting any damaged freight, operational issues or safety concerns to management
- Maintaining a clean, secure and organised warehouse environment
- Supporting the team to deliver a high level of customer service
- Helping to resolve day-to-day operational issues and supporting the Shift Manager where required
- Promoting good teamwork, communication and a positive working environment

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team is preferred
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safe working practices
- Comfortable working hands-on on the shop floor
- Experience with loading and unloading goods is essential
- Physically fit and comfortable handling tyres
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Experience working to KPIs and productivity targets
- Strong focus on health and safety
- Reliable, proactive and able to work well under pressure
- A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
