Location: Carlisle
Shifts: Monday to Friday – Alternating Days & Nights
Shift Times: 06:00 start (Days) / 18:00 start (Nights)
Shift Length: 10 Hours
We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our team at a busy waste management site. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver looking for stable, ongoing work with a consistent shift pattern.
Pay Rates:
- £16.62 per hour – up to 37.5 hours/week
- £22.75 per hour – for hours worked between 37.5 and 50
- £30.00 per hour – for hours worked over 50
- £42.37 per hour – all weekend and bank holiday hours
Role Responsibilities:
- Shunting trailers around the site in a safe and efficient manner
- Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Working in accordance with health & safety and site procedures
- Communicating with yard staff and operations teams to ensure smooth flow of vehicles
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Minimum 6 months\’ Class 1 driving experience (shunting experience desirable)
- Valid CPC and Tachograph Card
- Good awareness of vehicle and site safety
- Ability to work alternating day and night shifts
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday – 06:00 starts (Days)
- Week 2: Monday to Friday – 18:00 starts (Nights)
- 10-hour shifts with regular hours and no weekend work
