We are currently recruiting for Class 1 Night Drivers in the Stoke-on-Trent Area. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team, specialising in the transportation of timber. If you have a strong work ethic and excellent driving skills, we want to hear from you!
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday with shift start times between 17.15 - 18.45.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV to transport timber products to various locations.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and road-worthiness.
- Secure timber loads using ratchet straps to prevent movement during transit.
- Comply with all road traffic regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients on delivery sites.
- Adhere to delivery schedules while maintaining a high level of safety.
- Valid Class 1 HGV (C+E) licence.
- Experience using ratchet straps to secure loads though not essential as training can be provided.
- Up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and tachograph card.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent driving record with no major infringements.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Regular, consistent routes with start times between 17.15 and 18.45. Day shifts are also available - please call for further details.
