About the Role
The Best Connection are looking for a
Purchasing Administrator to join our manufacturing team in Chorley.
Working closely with the Purchasing and Scheduling teams, you will play a key role in ensuring products and materials are purchased and delivered on time to meet both production and customer requirements.
This is a varied administrative role, ideal for someone who is organised, proactive and confident communicating with both internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Purchasing and Scheduling teams to support production requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and carriers throughout the purchasing process to ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor and communicate any issues that could affect production schedules or manufacturing.
- Keep Customer Care updated on deliveries where required.
- Coordinate and manage the Direct Delivery process.
- Liaise effectively with departments across the business.
- Ensure purchasing and production systems remain accurate and up to date.
- Update purchase orders with confirmed delivery dates.
- Firm planned purchase orders from the MRP system.
- Maintain pricing and lead-time information within D365.
- Manage and update key performance indicators (KPIs) within D365.
- Monitor supplier performance and support weekly and monthly reporting.
- Purchase and manage site uniform stock.
- Carry out general administrative duties, including filing and correspondence.
- Support the wider team with other appropriate tasks as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who is
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicating with suppliers, carriers and internal departments.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Proactive in identifying and communicating potential issues.
- Comfortable working with computerised systems and maintaining accurate data.
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experienced in purchasing, administration, manufacturing or supply chain environments would be advantageous, but a strong administrative background is also welcomed.
