The Best Connection Group Limited are currently recruiting for a reliable Highway Maintenance Assistant in the Congleton area. We are looking for a Highways Maintenance Assistant to support the installation, repair, and general maintenance of bus shelters across the Cheshire West and East area. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone practical, reliable, and comfortable working on or near the highway network.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation and repair of bus shelters and associated infrastructure
- Using basic hand and power tools (e.g. battery drills, hand tools)
- Supporting site setup, safety measures, and traffic management where required
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Working as part of a small team
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to required standards
Essential Requirements
- Experience using basic tools, including battery-powered drills
- Clean UK driving licence
- Basic highway qualifications (e.g. CSCS, NHSS, or similar)
- Good understanding of health & safety on highways or construction sites
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
Desirable:
- Previous highways, construction, or street furniture experience
- Traffic management qualifications
- Experience working with bus shelters or street assets
Pay: Starting at £13.00 - increase dependant on experience
Hours: 07:30am - 16:30pm (May differ) Monday - Friday Full time (potential for permanent role after 12 weeks)
