Friday: 07:00 - 15:00
Overtime Available | Occasional Saturday Mornings (06:00 - 10:00)
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Pallet Manager on behalf of our well-established client, a leading recycling and manufacturing business based in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the pallet yard. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, health & safety standards, housekeeping, and supporting the overall performance of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the pallet yard alongside the Operations Manager.
- Escalating operational issues and concerns requiring management approval.
- Ensuring health & safety walks are completed and documented.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards throughout the pallet department.
- Monitoring and ensuring FLT daily checks are completed and recorded.
- Reporting FLT faults and defects to the maintenance team.
- Supporting productivity and operational performance across the department.
- Leading by example and promoting a positive working culture.
- Ensuring all personnel wear and maintain the correct PPE.
- Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Minimum 3-5 years' experience working within a pallet yard environment
Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence
Strong understanding of pallet production, repair, recycling or yard operations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving ability
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexible and adaptable approach to changing business needs
Strong health & safety awareness
Reliable with a stable work history
Desirable
Bucket Loader Licence
Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience
Background within timber, recycling, waste management or manufacturing environments
Customer-focused approach
