Our client is an established metal processing business that has been trading since 1984. Operating from four sites, their core activities include:
- Transformer dismantling
- Oil processing
- Transformer and switchgear sales and service
They employ approximately 50 staff and have a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and industry expertise.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee and manage operational, contractual, and logistical aspects of our business. This is a key role requiring strong organisational skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams across our sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee contracts related to metal processing, transformer dismantling, and associated services
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations, guidelines, and legislation
- Oversee the daily operation and coordination of HGV transport, including collections and logistics planning
- Prepare, upload, generate, and manage all required documentation accurately and efficiently
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery
- Support continuous improvement of processes, compliance, and efficiency across sites
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within the construction industry (essential)
- Strong understanding of HSE rules, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent computer skills, including document creation, uploading, and management
- Proven ability to manage logistics or transport operations, ideally involving HGVs
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Training & Development
Full training will be provided by the company for the right candidate. Ongoing support to ensure the successful transition into the role.
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary in the region of Β£40,000, dependent on knowledge and experience. Salary will increase once the candidate reaches the required competency level. No formal certificates are required at this stage.
