HGV Class 1 Driver
Location: Atherstone, Warwickshire
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour
Position: Temp to Permanent
Start Times: Between 05:00 and 09:00
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver. We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Atherstone. The Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery and collection of machinery and equipment across the UK. Customer service is a key aspect of the role, and you will be expected to represent the company professionally while delivering outstanding service to customers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out nationwide deliveries and collections of machinery and equipment
- Loading, securing, and transporting equipment safely
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Completing vehicle housekeeping and basic maintenance duties
- Ensuring all delivery and collection paperwork is completed accurately
- Adhering to driver hours and road transport regulations
- Providing excellent customer service at all times
Requirements
- Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification
- Minimum 3 years' Class 1 driving experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional and flexible approach to work
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
Desirable Experience
- Experience transporting forklifts, plant machinery, or access equipment
- Forklift or plant operating experience
- Relevant forklift or plant licences
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Start times between 05:00 and 09:00
- No weekend work
- Occasional overnight stay required (maximum once per week)
