The Best Connection are looking for an experienced Assembly Operative on a full-time basis in Shipley, BD17.

Some of the duties of an Assembly Operative will include but are not limited to:

  • Assembly of metal components and products according to technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Use of a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively (e.g., drills, grinders, riveters, wrenches, etc.).
  • Handle and prepare raw materials (metals) for assembly, including cutting, shaping, and finishing as required.
  • Carry out quality checks during and after assembly to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with health & safety standards.
  • Report any defects, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Follow company policies, standard operating procedures and health & safety guidelines at all times.
  • Assist with general production duties as required to support the team and meet deadlines.

To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills & experience:

  • Proven experience in an assembly, fabrication, or manufacturing environment - preferably working with metals.
  • Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly processes.
  • Awareness and practical knowledge of workplace health & safety procedures (e.g., PPE, manual handling, risk assessment).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or assembly instructions (desirable).
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Team player with good communication and time management skills.

Additional information:

  • Workshop or factory environment.
  • May involve standing for long periods and handling heavy materials.
  • Use of PPE (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) required.
