We are currently recruiting Hygiene Operatives to join a well-established and growing food production company in Alfreton, Derbyshire. As a Hygiene Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the production facility, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety regulations.

Pay Rates

  • Days & Afternoons: £13.27 per hour
  • Nights: £15.77 per hour

Shift Pattern

  • This role operates on a rotating 3-shift system: Days, Afternoons, Nights
  • Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire
  • Hours: Full Time, Temporary ongoing
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
  • Working Nights: Sun to Thursday

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitising food production equipment and machinery.
  • Deep cleaning production areas, workstations, and factory environments.
  • Following strict food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Completing cleaning records and documentation accurately.
  • Ensuring all hygiene standards comply with company and industry regulations.
  • Supporting production teams in maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Adhering to Health & Safety policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Hygiene Operative, Industrial Cleaner, Factory Cleaner, Production Cleaner, or Cleaning Operative is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, food production, FMCG, warehousing, or industrial environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices is beneficial.
  • Own transport may be advantageous due to shift start and finish times.
