Warehouse Goods In Operatives - Cambuslang
The Best Connection are currently recruiting Warehouse Goods In Operatives on behalf of our client in Cambuslang. This is a long-term temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidates.
The Role
You will be working within a busy warehouse environment, Could be in chilled conditions, with temperatures as low as 2°C. Full PPE will be provided, although candidates must have their own safety shoes.
The role will focus on goods in, unloading deliveries and checking incoming stock, so candidates must have previous hands-on warehouse experience and be comfortable with manual handling.
Duties will include:
- Unloading incoming deliveries from vehicles
- Receiving and checking deliveries against delivery notes and paperwork
- Checking incoming stock for accuracy, quality and any damages
- Scanning and recording stock using handheld scanners
- Moving goods to the correct warehouse locations
- Ensuring stock is stored safely and correctly
- Reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods
- Carrying out manual handling of goods and products
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment
- Working as part of a busy warehouse team
- Following all health and safety procedures
Shift Pattern
- 5 days out of 7 - rotating 3-week shift pattern
- Early starts between 5am and 6am starts, finishing at 3pm
- Working days can vary throughout the week
Pay
- £13.83 per hour standard
- £20.75 per hour overtime
- Weekly pay
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is essential
- Previous experience in goods in, receiving deliveries or unloading vehicles is highly desirable
- Comfortable checking stock, handling paperwork and using handheld scanners
- Comfortable working in chilled conditions, as low as 2°C
- Own safety shoes
- Good reliability and attendance
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Able to work early starts and the required rotating shift pattern
