Payroll Assistant
to join our friendly and supportive team in Bromsgrove. If you have hands-on payroll experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy really matters, we’d love to hear from you.
Salary & Benefits
- £18,200 – £18,850 DOE based on 25 hours per week.
- 30 days holiday, rising to 33 days after one year (including bank holidays)

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the payroll team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time every week.
Your responsibilities will include:
Weekly Payroll Processing
Processing weekly payroll end-to-end, ensuring all hours, overtime, and deductions are calculated accurately and deadlines are met.
Payroll Administration
Managing day-to-day payroll tasks including starters, leavers, updating employee records, and maintaining accurate data.
Statutory Payments
Calculating and administering SSP, SMP, and SPP in line with current legislation.
Pensions & Auto-Enrolment
Supporting pension processes, including auto-enrolment, employee assessments, and handling opt-ins/opt-outs.
Employee Support
Acting as a first point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear and helpful information to employees.
Compliance & Accuracy
Ensuring all payroll processes comply with HMRC regulations and are completed with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Reporting
Maintaining payroll data and producing reports for internal stakeholders when required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous payroll experience (essential)
- Experience processing
weekly payroll
- Knowledge of
statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
- Familiarity with
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and communication skills
