Location: Morley, Leeds (LS27)

Pay rate: £15.45 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00 and Friday 07:30-15:00 (39 hours per week)

We are looking for an experienced Wood Machinist for a temp to perm role with our client in Morley (LS27). The ideal candidate will have experience working with woodworking machinery and a solid understanding of timber and bespoke manufacturing processes.

Requirements and Responsibilities

  • NVQ Level 3 in Wood Machining (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience with woodworking machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documents
  • Knowledge of timber species
  • Experience with computer-controlled machinery (advantageous)
  • Operate a wide range of woodworking machinery, including:
    • 4-sided planer
    • Wide belt sander
    • Crosscut and band saws
    • Re-saw
    • Spindle Moulder
    • Edge bander (would be an advantage but not essential)
    • Beam saw (would be an advantage but not essential)
  • Work from CAD drawings and cutting sheets to produce accurate components
  • Manufacture and assemble bespoke customer products, such as:
    • Worktops and bar tops
    • Tabletops and benches
    • Door casings and rail & stile doors
    • Shopfronts
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer specifications
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Collaborate within a small team and remain flexible across different tasks
