The Best Connection Newcastle is currently seeking a reliable and physically fit Van Driver for our client in Blyth. This is a temporary, ongoing position with the potential for long-term work for the right candidate. You will be the face of the company, responsible for the collection of recycled textiles (clothing and shoes) from various donation points, including schools, charities, and retail shops across the North East.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a 3.5-tonne Luton Van safely and efficiently.
- Performing multiple daily collections following a set route.
- Heavy Manual Handling: Loading bags of textiles into the van and hand-offloading into trailers at the depot.
- Conducting daily vehicle defect checks and maintaining basic paperwork.
- Providing excellent customer service to site providers and the general public.
Requirements
- Driving Licence: Full UK Category B (Car) licence with no more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
- Physical Fitness: This is a highly demanding manual role; you must be comfortable with heavy lifting throughout the shift.
- Reliable and hardworking.
