We are currently recruiting a reliable and professional 3.5T Van Driver to join our logistics team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring customers receive outstanding service and high-quality products every time. Please note that this is not only a driving role; it is 50% warehouse and 50% driving.
Job Overview
- Location: West Norwood
- Working Pattern: Thursday to Sunday
- Start Times: 2AM - 3AM to 9AM. This is a 6-7 hours normal working day.
- Paying: Β£14ph
Key Requirements of a 3.5T Van Driver
- Carry out daily vehicle safety and compliance checks
- Load, secure and transport products safely and efficiently
- Ensure all finished products meet quality standards before dispatch
- Sort and prepare deliveries accurately at CPU for customer dispatch
- Check delivery notes and ensure 100% accuracy
- Plan efficient delivery routes using navigation tools while considering traffic and road conditions
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage and fuel usage
- Ensure vehicle and stock are fully secured when unattended
Key Responsibilities of a 3.5T Van Driver
- Keep vehicle clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure vans are washed at least bi-weekly
- Load confectionery and bakery items carefully to prevent damage
- Ensure correct storage temperatures for frozen, chilled and ambient products
- Secure loads before leaving the bakery
Health & Safety
- Work safely, hygienically and in compliance with food safety legislation
- Follow all hygiene procedures including cleaning equipment, crates and work areas
- Maintain high personal hygiene and wear company uniform correctly
- Rotate stock correctly and ensure accurate product dating
- Report accidents, incidents, faults or damage immediately
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior
