We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Forklift Operative to join our busy warehouse team within a fast‑paced food business. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely loading and unloading vans, moving stock within the warehouse, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health and safety procedures and food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks of the forklift truck before use
- Reporting any faults, defects, or maintenance issues promptly
- Loading and unloading delivery vans
- Moving and stacking stock within the warehouse
- Working closely with the warehouse picking team to ensure orders are loaded accurately and on time
- Supporting the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehouse operation
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Following all health and safety regulations and food hygiene procedures
- Working effectively as part of the night shift team
- Assisting with general warehouse duties as required
- Valid forklift licence/certification
- Previous warehouse or forklift experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work six nights per week
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards is desirable
