The Best Connection is recruiting for an experienced CNC 5 Axis Miller Programmer for our Wolverhampton based client.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £41,000 - £41,600 per year
Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 Monday-Friday
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture high-quality precision components to tight tolerances. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist/programmer who takes pride in producing accurate work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program, set, and operate CNC 5-axis milling machines
- Create and optimise CNC programs using CAM software
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining methods
- Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve efficiency
- Proven experience programming and operating CNC 5-axis milling machines
- Strong knowledge of CNC controls and CAM software
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering components
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Hypermill, Mastercam, or Fusion 360
- Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls
