We are looking for an experienced Wood Machinist for a temp to perm role with our client in Morley (LS27). The ideal candidate will have experience working with woodworking machinery and a solid understanding of timber and bespoke manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Wood Machining (or equivalent)
- Proven experience with woodworking machinery
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documents
- Knowledge of timber species
- Experience with computer‑controlled machinery (advantageous)
Responsibilities
- Operate a wide range of woodworking machinery including a 4‑sided planer, crosscut and band saws, re‑saw, spindle moulder, edge bander, beam saw
- Work from CAD drawings and cutting sheets to produce accurate components
- Manufacture and assemble bespoke customer products such as worktops, bar tops, tabletops, benches, door casings and rail & stile doors, and shopfronts
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Collaborate within a small team and remain flexible across different tasks
