The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Security / Weighbridge Operator to join our well-established client based in Wheatley. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a reliable and organised individual looking to secure a long-term position on a busy builder's merchant site.

Location: Wheatley, Oxfordshire

Hours of Work & Pay:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
  • Every other Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
  • £12.71 per hour (increase after 12 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing goods in and goods out operations.
  • Checking deliveries and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Carrying out customer vehicle checks and random spot checks.
  • Operating the weighbridge, weighing customer and supplier vehicles in and out of the site.
  • Directing visitors, customers, and delivery drivers around the site safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all site security procedures are followed.
  • Delivering excellent customer service while working in a busy operational environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working in a builder's merchant, construction, aggregates, recycling, waste, or similar industrial environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in a weighbridge, gatehouse, security, goods in/out, or traffic management role is desirable.
  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers, and HGV drivers in a professional manner.
  • A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach with good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of building materials or construction products would be beneficial.
