This Class 2 Driver role offers full‑time ongoing work supporting waste collection and environmental operations across the local area. As a Class 2 Driver in Tamworth, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste materials within the recycling industry. Loads may include loose, bailed, or skip‑contained materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving bin trucks and skip trucks
  • Carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks in line with company policy
  • Recording and reporting any vehicle defects
  • Completing scheduled collections and deliveries efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations
  • Maintaining written and electronic records accurately
  • Keeping vehicles clean and presentable
  • Communicating effectively with depot staff, customers, and drivers’ mates
  • Supporting the safety of any assistants/helpers on site
  • Participating in company training when required
Requirements
  • Valid UK Category C (Class 2) licence
  • Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum of 3 penalty points
  • Previous HGV driving experience preferred
  • Experience within the recycling industry or waste sector beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance
  • Good communication and organisational skills
