The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Semi-Multi Skilled Maintenance Operative to support the engineering team within a hospital for a short-term assignment. This role will involve working closely with the Lead Electrical Engineer and assisting with a variety of general maintenance tasks across the hospital site.
Location: Bishop Stortford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, a proactive approach, and the ability to support with a range of maintenance duties in a busy healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out basic patch painting and ad-hoc repairs
- Replacing ceiling tiles and completing general maintenance tasks
- Assisting with minor plumbing works (e.g. replacing taps)
- Escorting contractors around site when required
- Responding to helpline maintenance calls across the hospital
- Supporting with reactive issues such as unblocking toilets
- Working collaboratively alongside the Lead Electrical Engineer and wider team
- Carrying out duties across the hospital including clinical and ward areas
Requirements:
- Previous experience in general building maintenance or a semi-skilled trade role
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks across multiple trades
- Comfortable working in a hospital environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexible attitude and willingness to support wherever required
- DBS check required (must already hold or be willing to obtain)
