The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and experienced Cook to join a friendly care home team. This is a part-time role (27 hours per week), working on a rota basis between Monday and Sunday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This is a temp to perm position for the right candidate.
About the Role
As the Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents. You will be working independently in the kitchen, ensuring all meals meet dietary requirements and are prepared to a high standard. This role forms part of a job share, so flexibility is essential to cover annual leave and absences when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals for residents
- Ensure all food hygiene and safety standards are maintained
- Manage stock and kitchen supplies appropriately
- Cater to special dietary needs where required
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar cooking role (care environment preferred)
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload
- Flexible approach to working hours and holiday cover
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Please note: This position is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, which must be completed prior to starting work.
