The Best Connection are pleased to be supporting one of Bedford's most established companies and are recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operative to join their friendly team. The role will involve loading and unloading heavy stock onto lorries for distribution and assisting the warehouse team to organise stock for deliveries and in-bound materials.

Candidates must have a valid, in-date accredited counterbalance FLT Licence, up to 5 tonne licence preferred.

Shift pattern: Monday - Friday, usual working hours are 07:00 - 16:30hrs, pay rate is £13.50 per hour.

Requirements of the job:

  • Carry out quality control checks on products as directed and report any concerns to the warehouse manager.
  • Manual handling, heavy lifting and working outside in all weathers are a requirement of this role.
  • Follow all health and safety protocol at all times, reporting any concerns/incidents to management.
  • Forklift operatives will need to hold an accredited, valid, in date Counterbalance licence.
  • Be able to commute to shift location.

Responsibilities of the job:

  • Carry out site and warehouse housekeeping as required.
  • Complete any health and safety checks and record keeping as required.
  • Ensure all duties/tasks are carried out to required standards and production targets are achieved.
  • Operate Counterbalance Forklift to move stock and equipment safely around the warehouse.
  • Accurately pick stock and prepare dispatch paperwork, minimising errors and use in-house WMS.
