What You Will Be Doing As a Kitchen Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting with food preparation and serving
  • Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties
  • Preparing ingredients and food items as required
  • Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Assisting with school meal service
  • Following food safety, health and safety procedures
  • Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled safely
  • Working effectively as part of the wider catering team

To be considered for this Kitchen Assistant role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food service environment is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS - required
  • 2 references - required
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate - required or willingness to obtain
  • Food Allergen Certificate - required or willingness to obtain
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
  • Excellent reliability and timekeeping
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment
  • Professional and responsible approach when working within a school,
