Know Your Culinary Skills

Make sure you brush up on your cooking techniques and be ready to discuss your previous chef experience. Think about specific dishes you've prepared and any challenges you've faced in the kitchen. This will show that you're not just a chef, but a problem-solver too!

Food Hygiene Knowledge is Key

Since a Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with food safety standards. Be prepared to talk about how you maintain hygiene in the kitchen and any practices you follow to ensure food safety during your shifts.

Show Your Independence

As this role requires working independently, think of examples from your past where you successfully managed tasks on your own. Highlight your ability to stay organised and efficient, especially during quieter hours when you might be working solo.

Be Punctual and Reliable

Since the shifts are at night, emphasise your reliability and punctuality. You could mention how you manage your time effectively to ensure you arrive on time and ready to work. This will reassure them that you can handle the demands of the role.
