Berkeley Scott Recruitment are actively recruiting experienced Catering Assistants for the new school year starting in September! Working with our client, Impact Food Group, we have a variety of Catering Assistant roles available across schools in the Chester area. As a Catering Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Supporting Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams
  • Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food items
  • Assisting with food service of children, liaising with teachers and care workers
  • Operating tills and handling payments where required
  • Clearing down and closing units at the end of shifts
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Following food safety and food allergen legislation at all times
  • Ensuring food service areas remain clean, organised and well stocked
  • Working closely with all school staff to deliver an efficient service

What We Are Looking For In Our Catering Assistants:

  • Previous experience working as a Catering Assistant – experience working in education would be advantageous
  • Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, is essential
  • Possession of an Enhanced DBS with child barring or the willingness to obtain one is essential
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced catering environments
  • A positive, reliable and professional approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
