About the Role
Berkeley Scott, one of the UK’s leading hospitality recruitment agencies, is seeking skilled and dependable Chefs to support a range of clients across the Education and Healthcare sectors in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for chefs looking for flexible, weekday work, with the potential to secure long term or permanent roles in stable environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting high quality meals in line with client requirements
- Supporting menu planning, including dietary and allergen considerations
- Maintaining exceptional food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants where required
- Managing stock, portion control, and minimising waste
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety and health & safety regulations
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
Working Hours
Monday to Friday (weekends typically off) Shifts available between:
Start times: 6:30am – 9:00am
Finish times: 2:00pm – 6:30pm
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) – essential
- Right to work in the UK
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Chef (Chef de Partie level or above preferred)
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (Level 3 desirable)
- Experience in schools, care homes, or contract catering is advantageous
- Strong reliability, organisation, and timekeeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
