Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the SAP JVA team and IT department, ensuring seamless collaboration and understanding of technical requirements to deliver solutions meeting both business and IT objectives.
- Leverage expertise in S/4HANA RISE to guide business and IT teams through digital transformation, focusing on integrating SAP JVA with other SAP modules and non-SAP systems.
- Define and document business requirements specific to upstream Joint Venture Accounting. Review and ensure SAP configurations align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, maintaining a Clean Core Methodology.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design, test, and validate system integrations with production systems, financial modules, and regulatory reporting tools, emphasizing S/4HANA RISE capabilities. Ensure system performance, data integrity, and compliance.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve implementation issues.
- Develop and deliver SAP training programs tailored to Joint Venture Accounting teams, including hands-on sessions for a smooth transition from legacy systems.
- Provide guidance on cost allocations, partner billings, and compliance reporting best practices.
- Assist with change management to improve user adoption and reduce disruptions.
- Act as the primary support during go-live and stabilization phases.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP JVA post-implementation, providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Identify process improvements within SAP JVA and S/4HANA RISE to enhance efficiency, scalability, and automation, supporting business stakeholders in workflow and system optimization.
- Assist with SAP upgrades, patches, and feature rollouts.
- Maintain user guides, troubleshooting resources, system documentation, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Provide regular project and system performance reports to management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Operations, Land, Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and process efficiency.
- Work with regulatory and compliance teams to maintain accurate joint venture reporting and cost allocations.
- Partner with external consultants and SAP vendors to implement best practices.
- Align SAP reporting and analytics with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in joint venture accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil and gas, upstream preferred.
- Strong knowledge of joint venture agreements (JOAs), cost allocations, and partner billing processes.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA RISE transformation projects, including migration from ECC to S/4HANA.
- Expertise in joint venture accounting and SAP implementation preferred.
- Experience in end-user training and system adoption leadership.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAP Cloud Platform, and related technologies preferred.
