Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Department Communications Leadership
    • Oversee communication activity across salon operations, e-commerce, retail, education, training, partnerships, and customer engagement functions.
    • Create a unified communication approach so every department presents a consistent brand message.
    • Work closely with the Company Director and departmental leads to plan announcements, campaigns, launches, events, and business updates.
    • Translate departmental goals into clear communication plans that support growth, reputation, and customer confidence.
    • Set communication standards for tone, messaging, response times, approvals, and brand presentation.
  • Social Media Strategy and Management
    • Design and manage social media strategies across all relevant platforms to increase awareness, engagement, traffic, and conversion.
    • Plan content calendars that support product launches, salon services, academy programs, campaigns, promotions, and brand storytelling.
    • Lead the creation of social media copy, campaign concepts, captions, community updates, and audience engagement plans.
    • Monitor platform performance and adjust content strategy using audience insights, engagement data, and campaign results.
    • Maintain a consistent visual and written brand presence across social channels while adapting content to each audience segment.
  • Public Relations and Brand Positioning
    • Develop public relations strategies that position The Belle Loft Ltd as a premium beauty, retail, and education brand.
    • Prepare press releases, media statements, editorial content, founder messages, partnership announcements, and corporate updates.
    • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media contacts, beauty publications, influencers, ambassadors, educators, and commercial partners.
    • Identify opportunities for press coverage, features, interviews, collaborations, awards, and industry recognition.
    • Protect the company's public image by ensuring all external communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Campaign Planning and Delivery
    • Lead integrated communication campaigns for new services, retail products, academy courses, events, partnerships, and business milestones.
    • Coordinate campaign activity across social media, website content, email messaging, media outreach, customer communications, and stakeholder updates.
    • Create clear campaign briefs, timelines, content requirements, messaging frameworks, and reporting measures.
    • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to a high professional standard.
    • Review campaign outcomes and recommend improvements for future activity.
  • Stakeholder and Partnership Communications
    • Manage communication with brand ambassadors, influencers, affiliate partners, educators, suppliers, media contacts, and professional stakeholders.
    • Support partnership negotiation through clear messaging, professional documentation, and brand-safe communication standards.
    • Ensure influencer and affiliate communications follow UK advertising standards, brand guidelines, and reputational expectations.
    • Prepare partnership briefs, collaboration messages, approval notes, and communication plans for high-value commercial relationships.
    • Help strengthen relationships with industry bodies, awarding organisations, and education stakeholders.
  • Reputation and Crisis Communication
    • Monitor public sentiment across social platforms, review channels, forums, media mentions, and customer feedback sources.
    • Identify reputational risks early and recommend practical responses to protect the business.
    • Create crisis communication plans for sensitive issues, service disruption, public complaints, negative coverage, or urgent stakeholder matters.
    • Draft careful, professional responses for the Company Director's review when public issues require senior-level handling.
    • Maintain clear records of communication risks, responses, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
  • Analytics, Reporting and Insight
    • Track social media, PR, campaign, website, audience engagement, and communication performance metrics.
    • Use social listening, analytics platforms, and market insight tools to understand audience behaviour and campaign impact.
    • Prepare executive reports for the Company Director that clearly present findings, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
    • Measure return on communication activity using engagement, reach, conversion, sentiment, referral, and campaign performance data.
    • Use insight to guide future content, commercial promotions, product positioning, academy communication, and departmental messaging.
  • Internal Communication and Governance
    • Support clear internal communication between departments, so teams understand campaign priorities, launches, events, and brand updates.
    • Create templates, messaging guides, approval processes, and communication checklists where needed.
    • Ensure all departments adhere to the agreed-upon brand, tone, and communication standards.
    • Help senior leaders communicate business updates clearly, promptly, and professionally.
    • Promote a joined-up communication culture across the organisation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education And Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent RQF Level 6 qualification in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, international marketing, media, business, or a closely related discipline.
    • Significant senior-level experience in corporate communications, public relations, social media management, or brand communications may be considered where formal qualification evidence is not the main route.
    • Professional training or certifications in digital marketing, PR, analytics, content strategy, social media, or reputation management would be beneficial.
  • Professional Experience
    • Proven experience creating and delivering communication, PR, or social media strategies in a commercial environment.
    • Experience overseeing communications across multiple teams, departments, brands, or business functions.
    • Strong background in managing social media campaigns, audience engagement, digital content planning, and performance reporting.
    • Experience working with influencers, ambassadors, media contacts, commercial partners, or external agencies.
    • Experience in beauty, retail, e-commerce, luxury services, education, training, FMCG, or consumer-facing sectors would be advantageous.
  • Technical Skills
    • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and message development skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling tools, analytics dashboards, and social listening systems.
    • Ability to interpret engagement metrics, conversion data, sentiment trends, campaign reports, and market insight.
    • Confident use of SEO principles, digital content planning, audience segmentation, and campaign performance measures.
    • Ability to create clear reports, board-level summaries, campaign briefs, media materials, and stakeholder updates.
