Salary

The on-target earning potential for this role is a £32,223.36 annual salary, comprising a base salary of £30,476.16 supplemented by an estimated £1,747.20 in gratuities per annum.

About the role

As a Commis Chef within the Ryder Restaurant kitchen your day will be focused on the preparation of menu items for à la carte & buffet dishes and events, based on hotel occupancy. You will also be responsible for:

  • Cooking and delivering beautifully crafted food using the best ingredients sourced from local suppliers
  • Understanding the importance of allergens and dietary safety within your kitchen
  • All temperature logging for hot items and refrigerators to ensure full compliance
  • Assisting in running a section of the kitchen throughout a busy service and providing support to your teammates
  • Clearing and cleaning your section and other areas of the kitchen to ensure compliance

About you

The ideal candidate will have completed their professional cookery level 3, have worked in a fresh food kitchen environment and possess excellent communication and presentation skills. In addition, you will be:

  • Passionate about food and working with seasonal ingredients
  • Standards-driven, with a fantastic eye for detail
  • Willing to learn new skills and keen to develop
  • Able to develop strong relationships with your team and colleagues
  • Proficient in understanding COSHH and HACCP on food storage
