The Beefy Boys began as a group of passionate chefs and burger enthusiasts from Hereford who gained international recognition after competing in The World Food Championships in Las Vegas, where they earned an impressive second place among the world's best burger chefs. Following their success, they transformed their love for creative cooking into thriving street food pop-ups, eventually opening their first restaurant, The Beefy Boys Meat Boutique, in The Old Market in Hereford. Their expansion continues with locations in Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Bath and most recently Oxford, with Nottingham coming in June and Exeter to follow. The Beefy Boys are devoted to creating unforgettable dining experiences and take pride in their award-winning recipes and innovative culinary approach.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Chef, located at The Beefy Boys restaurant in Exeter. The Head Chef will oversee kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities will also include managing kitchen staff, ordering and maintaining inventory, and ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional dishes that align with The Beefy Boys' reputation for excellence.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in culinary arts, including menu development, food preparation, and plating
- Strong leadership, staff management, and team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, kitchen operations, and inventory management
- Creativity in developing unique, high-quality recipes and incorporating new techniques
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for food excellence and commitment to delivering exceptional customer dining experiences
- Prior experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar restaurant setting is preferred
- Culinary certification or relevant professional training is an advantage but not mandatory
