We are seeking applications for the post of Qualified Nursery Assistant for The Beeches Nursery in Aghalee Co. Responsible for the provision of planned programmes of care, which ensures the safety and well-being of children.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervision of children to ensure their safety.
- The provision of appropriate personal care to children, changing nappies/clothes as necessary, supervising toileting and personal hygiene routines.
- Following structured activity programmes, arranging naps/rest periods, playtimes as agreed for each child.
- Being available at all times to talk to, listen, comfort and encourage the children in your care.
- Implementing agreed policies and procedures in place in the unit.
- Contributing to the maintenance of records as required by the manager.
- Participating in staff development and in-service training as required.
- Liaising with parents and other professionals as necessary.
- Ensuring the procedures are adhered to in respect of Health and Safety, Fire Prevention and Confidentiality.
Hours of Work: 30-35 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Caring for children aged 1 to 10 years.
Qualifications:
- Level 2 Childcare & Education or above.
- Willing to complete First Aid & Child Protection Training.
- Past experience within a similar setting.
- Good communication skills are essential.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience preferred but full training will be given.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Child protection certificate.
