The Beeches Primary requires an experienced Attendance Lead and Alternate DSL to join our successful school. This is a great opportunity for you to work more closely with our team of dedicated staff, wonderful children and wider community.

Responsibilities

  • Be passionate about removing barriers for learning.
  • Work with families, individuals and groups of children, using regular attendance checks and contact with parents/carers and children to promote and improve levels of attendance.
  • Collate information with regard to the attendance of students who may be experiencing attendance difficulties in order to inform school, Education Welfare and parents/carers.
  • Provide educational support for pupils with social, communication, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team, updating them regularly with attendance data and support provided.
  • Attend relevant meetings, including with the Educational Welfare Officer.
  • Contact parents/carers and relevant agencies to support attendance plans.
  • Commit to raising the achievement of all children.
  • Be a good communicator with the ability to work effectively with other agencies and families.
  • Be enthusiastic, empathetic, patient and non-judgmental.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of a holistic approach to behaviour management, including the importance of self-awareness and self-control whilst managing behaviour.
  • Have experience with working with children, families and outside agencies.
  • Be a member of the safeguarding team and an Alternate DSL.
  • Support families with ‘early help’ and referrals to outside agencies.

Qualifications

You will be expected to have experience and a professional approach to working with children and families. A good sense of humour and a commitment to life-long learning are essential.
