Purpose Of The Role

To be responsible for and ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of a consistently high-quality product within pre-agreed production standards and plan by the control of raw materials, packaging, people and plant at the Beechdean Manufacturing site. You will be an integral part of the Senior Management Team at the Beechdean Manufacturing site. The Head of Production will drive performance within the manufacturing teams ensuring all efficiencies and KPIs are met to the highest standard. To provide leadership and work with the teams to develop the factory culture in terms of its values and approach to continuous improvement and maximum Production efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, co-ordinate and prioritise activity to deliver productivity and efficiency targets in line with the agreed production plan.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, GIGO and Product teams to ensure that the factory delivers product manufacturing accordance product specifications from a food safety and quality point of view.
  • Work closely with product teams to ensure satisfactory manufacture of product and involvement with launch of new products.
  • Liaising with Goods in Goods out to ensure all raw materials are available and on site.
  • To work with senior management to ensure continual improvement and delivery of new products.
  • Liaising with engineering to ensure all machines are operating correctly to achieve production plan.
  • Lead and supervise the team of production staff, providing guidance, training, core competencies, teams, rotas and scheduling.
  • Carry out internal audits alongside the Technical team and report back to the Managing Director with corrective actions.
  • Confirm labour requirements to adhere with the production plan ensuring maximum efficiency from the team and adherence to agreed department labour budgets.
  • Reporting to all channels that are relevant.

Food safety, Health & Safety / HR

  • Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • An active member of the onsite Health & Safety Committee ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Report any Food safety issues immediately to the Managing Director.
  • Only use machinery as trained and authorised.
  • Report any Health and Safety issues onsite immediately to the Managing Director.
  • Ensure due diligence onsite and operate in a respectful way to all members of staff and visitors.
