The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join its exceptional team. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast's recent boutique hotel openings.
Who are we? The Bedford Hotel Belfast is a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, café/bar, and exclusive private dining, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will set new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.
Role Responsibilities:
- You will support the kitchen team in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
- As a Commis Chef, you will assist in the preparation and production of dishes in a timely and organised manner, helping to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- You will take pride in your work, maintain high standards of quality and presentation, and consistently follow the guidance and specifications set by the Head Chef.
- Ensure all food is prepared, presented and served to a high standard and in keeping with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure ordering is accurate and all fridges, freezers and all food storage is stock rotated.
- Follow the specifications set out by the Head Chef to ensure consistency.
- Support the kitchen team, whilst maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen operation.
- Ensure that you are correctly dressed and adhere to high personal hygiene standards.
- Comply with all regulations as stated in the normal operating procedures.
- Ensure all maintenance issues are reported immediately following the correct procedure.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a hotel kitchen, preferably as a Commis Chef.
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations.
- Passion for high-quality, fresh, seasonal food.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the team.
