Woburn Abbey Marketing & Communications Manager
Join the team at The Bedford Estates Woburn as a Marketing & Communications Manager and lead the PR, communications and marketing for one of Britain’s most historic estates as it prepares to open its doors once more.
After being closed since 2019 for extensive restoration, Woburn Abbey, the ancestral home of the Duke of Bedford for nearly 400 years, will reopen to visitors soon. Home to a significant private art collection and set in spectacular Bedfordshire parkland, it is a cultural landmark ready to reclaim its place in the hearts of visitors locally, nationally and internationally.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop, plan and implement a powerful PR, communications and marketing strategy that supports the Abbey’s soft opening, grand reopening and future visitor seasons.
- Identify key target audiences and devise creative campaigns to reach them through traditional media, digital marketing, partnerships and community engagement.
- Act as the main point of contact for media, trade press and community stakeholders, building strong relationships to secure coverage and raise Woburn Abbey’s profile.
- Manage all day‑to‑day marketing, PR and communications activities, from advertising and social media to content creation, promotions, events and printed collateral.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure messaging is clear, consistent and true to Woburn’s heritage and ambitions.
- Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and PR activity, analysing results and presenting insights and recommendations to the senior team.
- Maintain effective internal communications to keep the Abbey’s teams and wider Estate informed and inspired about our marketing plans and successes.
- Represent Woburn Abbey at tourism, heritage and local community events, building partnerships that strengthen our reputation and visitor appeal.
- Research market trends and customer insights to inform future planning and ensure we remain competitive and relevant in a changing cultural landscape.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree‑qualified marketing and communications professional with substantial experience in heritage, visitor attractions, culture, tourism or a similar field.
- A proven track record in delivering impactful PR campaigns and securing positive media coverage.
