Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,552 and £26,754 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the Role: We are currently seeking a Technician Computing to join our Computing and Digital Technologies department at The Bedford College Group.
- Multi-Campus Network Support: Provide IT support across Corby, Kettering, and Wellingborough campuses, ensuring systems, equipment, and services are configured, maintained, and fully operational.
- Network & Systems Management: Monitor, administer, and maintain departmental networks, including hardware/software installation, account management, and accurate record keeping.
- Technical Support & Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff and IT teams to configure specialist systems, troubleshoot issues, and support the delivery of computing courses.
- Operational & Administrative Duties: Prepare devices for exams, produce user guides and support documentation, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental efficiency.
- Compliance & College Responsibilities: Adhere to safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety policies, while supporting wider college activities such as events, exams, and cross-campus collaboration.
About You:
- Qualifications & Technical Knowledge: Relevant IT certifications (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) or strong industry experience, with up-to-date understanding of PC architecture, networking, and digital technologies.
- Technical Skills & Troubleshooting: Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot PC hardware, peripherals, applications, and networks, with familiarity in Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications.
- Health, Safety & Risk Awareness: Experience of risk assessment processes and a solid understanding of health and safety requirements within an IT and educational environment.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong ability to support non-technical users, contribute to team goals, follow procedures, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional Conduct & Flexibility: Commitment to safeguarding, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, continuous learning, flexibility, and willingness to travel across multiple sites.
