Role: Technical Lecturer – Bricklaying

Location: Tresham College – Corby and / or Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary is up to £43,048* DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Salary package includes base salary plus a Market Supplement of up to £10,000 per annum.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time UK based contract. Right to Work in the UK is required. Sponsorship not offered.

About The Role

  • Teach Bricklaying & Construction: Deliver and assess courses up to Level 3 (and higher skills where appropriate), ensuring engaging and industry-standard lessons.
  • Drive Curriculum Innovation: Develop schemes of work, create teaching materials, and integrate modern construction methods and renewable technologies.
  • Support Student Development: Provide mentoring, monitor progress, arrange work experience, and prepare detailed performance reports.
  • Manage Administration & Compliance: Complete registers, assessments, verification, and represent the college at events while maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Promote College Values & Safeguarding: Uphold equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety policies; engage in training and continuous professional development.

About You

  • Construction Experience & Qualifications: Hands‑on experience in the construction industry with Level 2 NVQ/Diploma; willingness to gain First Aid and forklift certification.
  • Safety & Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of safe working practices, COSHH, and current construction methods across trades.
  • Practical & Organisational Skills: Skilled in maintaining inventories, preparing and repairing tools, and keeping accurate records with minimal supervision.
  • Professional & Team‑Oriented: Demonstrates college values, communicates effectively, and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Adaptable & Committed: Flexible with hours and travel, proactive in upskilling, and dedicated to safeguarding, equality, and health & safety compliance.
