About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer – Early Years to join our Health, Social Care & Childcare Department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer – Early Years, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Teaching & Assessment - Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of programmes, prepare engaging learning materials, assess and verify student work, and ensure awarding body standards are met.
• Student Development & Support - Support, guide and motivate students to achieve their potential through effective progress monitoring, timely interventions, and a positive learning experience.
• Curriculum & Quality Improvement - Contribute to curriculum development, introduce innovative teaching practices, participate in quality assurance processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Industry Engagement & Programme Promotion - Maintain current industry knowledge through CPD, develop employer links and vocational opportunities, and support recruitment activities including open days, interviews, and promotional events.
• Compliance & Professional Responsibilities - Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety requirements, complete administrative duties accurately, and contribute effectively to team and college-wide objectives.

About You

• Qualifications & Academic Background - Relevant degree in Early Years, GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed or willingness to work towards), and assessor/verifier awards.
• Teaching & Industry Experience - Recent experience teaching Early Years programmes, vocational experience within Early Years settings, knowledge of current sector developments, and experience developing engaging multimedia learning resources.
• Student Support & Safeguarding - Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, with the ability to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Communication & Professional Skills - Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and uphold the College's values and reputation.
• Digital Capability & Professional Development - Confident use of Microsoft Office, Moodle and other IT systems, commitment to continuous professional development, flexibility to work across locations, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
