About The Role: We are currently seeking an Associate Lecturer in SEND to join our Specialist Provision department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning Delivery β Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across Pathways courses (pre-entry to Entry 3), tailored to individual learner needs and aligned with awarding body standards.
- Curriculum Development & Innovation β Develop schemes of work and new learning materials, contribute to course team meetings, and implement quality processes to enhance teaching and learning.
- Student Progress & Support β Monitor and record student progress, prepare reports, manage classroom behaviour, and support inclusive, safe, and diverse learning environments.
- Collaboration & Administration β Work with tutors and support staff, complete course-related admin tasks accurately and on time, and contribute to the wider goals of the Centre.
- Statutory Responsibilities β Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety, while actively engaging in training and professional development in line with TBCG policies.
About You
- Qualifications & Experience β Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, GCSEs (AβC) in English and Maths, and experience supporting learners with learning difficulties or disabilities at entry level.
- Teaching & Learning Skills β Proven ability to deliver group learning, manage classroom behaviour, and support high-quality learning experiences using Microsoft Office and other tools.
- Communication & Teamwork β Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism.
- Values & Professionalism β Demonstrates commitment to student focus, high performance, and respect; promotes the collegeβs reputation and values in all interactions.

What is an Associate?
Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and work with and are supported by core staff. As an associate you will be issued an Associate agreement; under this agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
