Role: Training Coordinator – Electrical

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking an Electrical Training Coordinator to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Apprentice Support & Development – Coach and mentor apprentices in the workplace, enabling them to build skills, knowledge, and competencies for successful completion.
  • Progress Tracking & Compliance – Monitor and record progress using OneFile, ensure completion of all programme components, and maintain accurate audit‑ready records.
  • Employer & Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with employers and tutors, provide regular feedback, and align training plans with business needs.
  • Assessment & Quality Assurance – Deliver training, conduct reviews, set SMART targets, verify evidence, and participate in internal quality assurance and standardisation.
  • Statutory & Professional Responsibilities – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety standards; maintain confidentiality and contribute to continuous improvement.

About You

  • Essential Qualifications – Level 3 vocational qualification, GCSE English and Maths, TAQA Level 3 (or willingness to achieve), and ideally TAQA Level 4 and 18th Edition.
  • Industry & Teaching Experience – Proven experience in the relevant vocational sector, NVQ training and assessment, classroom management, and high performance in previous roles.
  • Core Skills & Competence – Strong IT skills (including e‑portfolio systems), ability to deliver sector‑based training, provide robust feedback, and manage workload effectively.
  • Professional Attributes – Excellent communication, organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, promote equality and diversity, and maintain safeguarding standards.
  • Flexibility & Mobility – Current driving licence, willingness to travel across sites, adapt working hours, and continuously update skills and knowledge.
