About The Role
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) in Maths and English to join our Maths and English department at The Bedford College Group. As a Teaching Assistant (Level 2), you will play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Student Support β Provide educational, personal, and social support to students, including those with special educational needs, to help them access learning, develop independence, and participate fully in college life.
- Tutor & Curriculum Support β Assist tutors in planning and delivering lessons, preparing materials, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting the implementation of EHCPs and support plans.
- English & Maths Focus β Support the delivery of English and maths across the curriculum, helping students engage with core subjects and reinforcing learning through targeted activities.
- Operational & Administrative Duties β Help with college visits, maintain accurate records of student progress, and contribute to the smooth running of the college by covering for absent staff and supporting general operations.
- Professional Conduct & Development β Work collaboratively within college policies, maintain confidentiality, attend training and meetings, and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards.
About You
- Essential Qualifications β Holds GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths, with a willingness to work towards Level 3 in both subjects.
- Educational Awareness β Understands the educational needs of children and young people, with the ability to plan and support learning activities effectively.
- Collaboration & Independence β Works well both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to a supportive learning environment.
- IT & Practical Support β Confident using IT in classroom settings and able to meet the physical needs of students as required.
