Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between Β£31,930 and Β£36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Plan, deliver, assess, and verify Business programmes across various levels, ensuring lessons meet awarding body standards and individual student needs.
  • Student Support & Progress Monitoring – Guide students to achieve their potential through regular reviews, progress tracking, and timely interventions, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Curriculum Development & Innovation – Contribute to curriculum design, develop engaging learning materials, and incorporate vocational opportunities like employer links and work experience.
  • Quality Assurance & Administration – Participate in internal verification, course reviews, and quality processes; complete administrative tasks such as enrolments and registers accurately and on time.
  • Professional Engagement & Compliance – Stay current with industry knowledge, support marketing and recruitment activities, and uphold statutory duties in safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and CPD.

About You

  • Essential Qualifications & Industry Knowledge – Degree in a Business-related subject, GCSEs in English and Maths, PGCE/Cert Ed (or willingness to obtain), and recent professional development in Business education.
  • Teaching Experience & Curriculum Expertise – Proven experience teaching and assessing Business programmes in FE, with knowledge of awarding bodies like BTEC, NCFE, and City & Guilds, and a strong track record of student success.
  • Inclusive & Student-Centred Approach – Skilled in adapting teaching for diverse learners, promoting equality and diversity, and creating a welcoming, supportive environment that fosters achievement.
  • Professional Skills & Team Contribution – Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to team goals and college values.
  • Commitment to Safeguarding & Flexibility – Dedicated to safeguarding responsibilities, continuous professional development, and flexible working across locations, with awareness of health and safety standards.
