Location: Bedford College β Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary between Β£25,585 and Β£30,915 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Peopleβs pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week β 40 weeks per year

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Learning Mentor to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Learning Mentor, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Mentor & Support Students β Provide pastoral care, guidance, and motivational mentoring to improve attendance, punctuality, and academic progress.
- Deliver Early Interventions β Work with βat riskβ learners to remove barriers, manage wellbeing concerns, and liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Monitor & Report Attendance β Collect and track attendance data, implement improvement strategies, and produce reports on interventions and progress.
- Collaborate Across College β Support induction, UCAS and employment applications, contribute to quality initiatives, and assist with events and exams.
- Uphold College Standards β Promote safeguarding, equality, and health & safety, maintain confidentiality, and engage in training and development.
About You
- Essential Qualifications: Educated to Level 3 with relevant qualifications, GCSE English and Maths A*-C, and evidence of recent professional development.
- Knowledge & Experience: Strong understanding of Post-16 education, safeguarding (including Prevent), and experience in school/college-based learning support.
- Student Engagement Skills: Ability to build rapport, motivate learners, and promote equality and diversity within the role.
- Communication & Organisational Strengths: Excellent verbal/written communication, prioritisation, and IT skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Professional & Flexible Approach: Committed to education values, adaptable to change, able to travel and adjust working hours, and maintain professional boundaries.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
