About the role:

We are currently seeking a Learning Facilitator to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Learning Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Student Support & Study Skills – Provides tailored out-of-class support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, helping them develop effective study strategies through one-to-one and small group sessions.
  • Resource Development & Collaboration – Maintains and creates learning resources, including assistive technologies, and works closely with curriculum teams to support student progress and promote Study Centre attendance.
  • Assessment & Administration – Administers and marks tests, maintains accurate student records (e.g. ISPs, support cards), and ensures documentation aligns with College requirements.
  • Service Improvement & Engagement – Proposes service enhancements, attends meetings and reviews, and supports College events such as open days and inductions.
  • Compliance & Professional Development – Upholds safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and actively engages in training and development to meet role and strategic objectives.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Experience – Educated to Level 3 with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, GCSEs in Maths and English (A–C), and experience supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities across varied contexts.
  • Skills & Inclusivity – Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, sensitive to individual needs, and experienced in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusive practices in educational settings.
  • Teamwork & Professionalism – A collaborative team member who values others’ expertise, contributes positively to a welcoming environment, and upholds the College’s reputation through professional conduct
  • Communication & Values Alignment – Communicates confidently across formats, works in line with College values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty), and builds strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, continuous development, and flexible working across College locations, with awareness of health and safety and appropriate boundaries with vulnerable groups.
